InventionHome Featured Invention – Tipsy Tower

Memorial Day has come and gone.  The holiday signifies many things…a time to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country, as well as a time to visit the gravesites of our loved ones to pay respects.  In a much less ‘official’ manner, this day also marks a changeover in the season making it permissible to wear white shoes and also, since the weather is becoming more consistently warm it’s the perfect time to plant annual flowers.

Inventors Gordon and Carri B. of Jensen Beach, Florida developed a charming product to help create whimsical vertical displays of flowers very easily.  They call it “Tipsy Tower”.

Tipsy Tower provides a streamlined and interesting way to stack multiple potted plants into a vertical area. The product consists of a rod with two foot pieces and an optional hanging ring that can attach to the top. The powder-coated rod screws into the foot pieces and the ring can be screwed onto the top if desired. To use, slide the rod through the drainage holes on the pots.  Each pot can be tilted so that they stack on top of one another at differing angles.

Gordon and Carri enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist them in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for their invention.

InventionHome Featured Invention – The Dignity Towel

People ages 65 and over represented 12.4% of the US population in the year 2000 but are expected to grow to be 19% of the population by 2030.  With the growth of the elderly population comes a growth in the need for caregivers…whether skilled nurses or loving family members.   And subsequently, there comes a need for products to assist in providing such care.

One such product is our featured invention of the month, a product titled “The Dignity Towel”, which comes from InventionHome client Sharon F. of Los Angeles, California

The Dignity Towel is a unique product with all the benefits of a standard towel, and some additional features to assist both caregivers and those needing care.   The towel features elastic and snaps which will ensure a secure fit when the caregiver wraps the towel around the person; this provides coverage and dignity in front of a person providing assistance when getting out of a bathtub.  The towel also has two reinforced handles, which allow for equal distribution of the person’s weight and enabling easy lifting/assistance without strain on the caregiver.

InventionHome Featured Invention – “Indoor Plant Duster & Solution Applicator”

Many people list among their “New Year’s Resolutions” a pledge to keep a tidier house...to address those crevices and cobwebs that might get overlooked by the kids doing their Saturday chores…to impress their visitors with sparkling, clean surfaces.  Well here’s an invention that makes it a cinch to wash away surface dust and grime on indoor plants, and leave a lustrous shine that’s sure to impress your neighbors.

The invention is titled “Indoor Plant Duster & Solution Applicator”, and it comes from InventionHome clients Melissa and Russell D. of Encino, California.

Designed to aid both in cleaning the leaves of plants and providing a method for the even application of various solutions, the invention consists of a pair of thin tongs with spongy padding on the underside of each arm.   When the tongs are closed, the top and bottom meet flush together. Disposable, quilted sleeves with a premeasured amount of various solutions, such as plant food, plant-safe cleaner, or shine enhancer, can slide over each arm, covering the spongy assemblies. The sleeves can be discarded after use, making them a convenient tool to help you tackle that 2013 resolution.

InventionHome Featured Invention – “Bottomless Purse”

Black Friday…I’ll be ready for you next year…

Despite my best efforts to plan ahead for the biggest shopping day of 2012, I just didn’t have what it took to score big on Doorbusters.  Ok…so I slept in just a tad and missed all the midnight through 11:00 am “Early Bird Specials”  But when I arrived at the mall at 11:00, armed with newspaper glossies and clipped coupons galore, I found myself emptying the contents of my bigger-than-a-breadbox purse right on the checkout counter at Macy’s in search of the elusive $10 coupon.  Did I save $10?  No…despite my frantic search it wasn’t until later that I found the coupon wedged inside my checkbook.  Bah humbug!

Had I accessorized with a “Bottomless Purse” on that recent Friday, locating exactly the coupon I needed would have been so much easier.  The Bottomless purse is a reversible purse design with zippers on both the top and bottom that guarantees easy access to items inside.  When items in this purse fall to the bottom, users can zip the top of the purse closed, rotate the unit a full 180ยบ, and unzip what was once the bottom to reveal the new top. Everything that had fallen to the bottom is now easily accessible on the top

The Bottomless Purse was invented by InventionHome client Dick L. of Ormond Beach, Florida.  Dick enlisted the help of InventionHome to assist him in finding marketing/licensing opportunities for her invention.

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – “Jagged Jeans Design”

It’s back-to-school time!  This means back-to-school shopping and for many it also means back-to-school JEANS.  The problem with brand new jeans is…well…they aren’t broken in to look and feel “old”.  But don’t worry...we have an invention for that, and it comes from our client Ronda E. from Iowa.

The name of Ronda’s invention is “Jagged Jeans Design”, and it is comprised of a kit including various tools to distress, fade and fray denim.  The tools can be used on any denim fabric, including jean jackets.  The product enables people to distress their jeans at home, rather than having to buy expensive store-bought distressed jeans.

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week – NeatSink

I have a dirty little secret.  It’s the mess under my kitchen sink.  I can’t explain how it happens…my intentions are good.  I do actually clean under there periodically.  But try as I might, it always gravitates to a mish-mash of cleaning supplies, detergents, sponges and rags.  I think I even have some very old fish-food down there.  So that said, I’m excited about our Invention of the Month, “NeatSink”.

NeatSink acts as a customizable organizer for kitchen supplies, while also acting as a backsplash for the kitchen sink. This unique product comprises a vertical back panel with a number of spaced horizontal slots, a flexible water seal located at the bottom of the panel, and a hand access for operation of the water valve.  A pair of feet extends forward from each end of the panel to hold it upright.  A variety of attachments can easily attach to the panel in whatever arrangement the user desires. The attachments are designed to hold a number of individual items useful in the kitchen, such as bottles, brushes, sponges, towels, and cleaning pads.

InventionHome announces their Invention of the Week: Flea Zapper

To quote George Gershwin, “Summertime and the livin’ is easy”.  Sun is shining, birds are singing, and…fleas are biting?

Our Invention of the Month, “Flea Zapper”, can help you keep your beloved pet safe from the bloodsucking insects.

Flea Zapper(TM) is safe, chemical-free and removes 100% of flea infestation on household pets. The Flea Zapper is able to produce enough electric current to kill 3-4 fleas in one combing action.  Using the Flea Zapper is easy... Simply turn on the comb and run it through the animal's fur. Whenever the comb's teeth come in contact with a flea, it will be killed instantly.  The ergonomic design enables a firm and comfortable grip of the product while performing the combing. Hair and dead fleas can easily be removed from the teeth of the comb by means of a button on the handle which retracts the teeth into the casing. A more thorough cleaning can be performed with the special cleaning brush provided with the product. The product is powered by two AA batteries, which can be easily replaced by just pressing the battery cover button and inserting fresh batteries.
